Closing CCTV blind spots at a DPD parcel depot

The Challenge

DPD was experiencing security vulnerabilities along their perimeter fencing. A Hikvision camera system provided substantial coverage, but parked delivery vans inadvertently created blind spots. Opportunistic intruders used them to breach the fence undetected, leading to unauthorised site access and theft.

The Solution

APS implemented the Flexiguard™ perimeter detection system along the fence line, detecting any cut or climb attempt regardless of visual obstructions, with Automatic Environmental Compensation keeping false alarms low in wind and rain. Integration was cost-effective and seamless: dry relay contacts linked Flexiguard™ into the existing Hikvision VMS, the PTZ camera towers powered the Flexiguard™ PSUs, and each zone alarm automatically pivots the corresponding PTZ camera onto the intrusion point for real-time visual verification.

The Result

By combining Hikvision visual coverage with Flexiguard™ physical breach detection, DPD gained comprehensive, intelligent perimeter security. Since installation, the site has experienced zero losses from perimeter breaches.
